Experience headlines: Archivist and Archaeologist with extensive experience of heritage governance and strategy.
Formerly: Head of Housing Policy, Greater London Council and Corporate Records Manager, Berkshire Record Office. Set up the Greater London Historic Environment Record and the English Heritage Record Office before becoming Director of the National Monuments Record with the English Royal Commission and later with English Heritage, managing a staff of around 120. National coordinator on behalf of RCHME/English Heritage of relationships with the Association of Local Government Archaeological Officers on HER issues, Chair of the Corpus of Romanesque Sculpture in Britain and Ireland, Member of the Heritage Lottery Fund Committee for Wales, Trustee of the Archaeological Organisations Pension Fund and Company Director/Trustee of the Dyfed Archaeological Trust and the Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust.
Currently: President and Trustee of the Brecknock Society and Friends of Brecknock Museum, (Member Editorial Board of the county history journal, Brycheiniog) and Trustee of the Brecon Cathedral Trust. Member, British Archaeological Association and Cambrian Archaeological Association.
