Join us on Sunday, September 14th, for our excavation open day at Basingwerk Abbey.

We will showcase our collaborative investigation with students from Liverpool John Moores University! This marks the first excavation of the site since it was cleared in the 1930s, providing a unique opportunity to explore new features within the abbey grounds.

Visitors will have the chance to view our hand-dug trial trenches and hear directly from the archaeologists and students about how these efforts, in combination with recent discoveries within the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park, are enhancing our understanding of this historic site.
