Festival of Archaeology 2026
Theme: Archaeology and Nature
We’re excited to announce that Heneb will be taking part in the Council for British Archaeology’s 2026 Festival of Archaeology, a UK‑wide celebration of heritage, discovery and community engagement. This year’s theme ‘Archaeology and Nature‘ invites us to explore the deep connections between people, place, and the natural world. The Festival runs Saturday 18 July – Sunday 2 August 2026 and highlights how landscapes, climate, plants, animals and geology shape archaeological evidence and how humans have shaped nature in return across millennia.
About the 2026 Festival
The Council for British Archaeology has set a rich and inspiring focus this year:
- Archaeology and nature are intrinsically connected, revealing how humans have lived with and adapted to their environments.
- The theme encourages creative exploration of landscapes, natural processes, and the environmental factors that preserve or transform archaeological sites.
This theme aligns wonderfully with Heneb’s commitment to understanding, conserving, and sharing the historic environment of Wales and we can’t wait to be a part of it.
