In June 2025, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority discovered that the nationally important scheduled monument known as Gors Fawr Stone Circle had been the victim of ground disturbance, where turf and soil around 13 of the stones had been disturbed. In addition, ground disturbance had also occurred within the central area of the monument. This was concerning for the National Park Authority, as the stone circle one of only a few complete examples from the Bronze Age, as such it is important to protect it against this sort of damage. The monument is also cherished by the local community and the public more broadly.

A meeting was held between the National Park Authority, Cadw and Dyfed-Powys Police in June 2025 to discuss the incident and agree on an approach to address the issue. The National Park Authority agreed to carry out ground repair work at the monument, patrols to the monument were increased and signage was placed at the site. Under scheduled monument consent from Cadw, the National Park Authority community archaeologist, area ranger and volunteers carried out the repair work in September 2025. This included clearing gorse in the surrounding landscape to make the site more prominent from the roadside, potentially deterring further damage as the activity would be visible to passers-by. The site continues to be monitored by National Park Authority staff, volunteers and colleagues from Dyfed-Powys Police for further issues.
