Historical background
The historic landscape area of Vaynor Quarry comprises an active stone quarry, which originated during the 1870s to provide limestone for Crawshay’s Cyfarthfa Ironworks. The current works have rapidly expanded since being re-opened under AW Lewis, the area now contains an array of modem quarry buildings and structures, such as conveyors and hoppers.
