as part of ongoing conservation efforts at the historic Hafod Estate, Cambria Archaeology carried out an evaluation within Mariamne’s Garden to investigate the layout of its original paths. Following recent scrub clearance, four trenches and fourteen test pits were excavated, revealing well-preserved quartz stone pathways just beneath the surface. The findings were recorded and integrated into the existing site survey, helping to inform future restoration and management of this historic walled garden.
