In 2017–18, CPAT ran a Cadw-funded community project exploring Roman activity along the Deeside coastal strip. Centred on Pentre Ffwrndan, the project combined themed events, displays, and hands-on archaeology, engaging over 200 participants from local schools and groups. Volunteers joined professional archaeologists in geophysical survey and excavation of a Roman road, confirming its alignment towards a probable quayside on the Dee Estuary. The project not only advanced knowledge of Roman Deeside but also provided valuable training and inspired further community involvement in archaeology.
