Heneb’s NEW Volunteering Network Officer
We are delighted to welcome Siân Jackson as Heneb’s new WCVA‑funded Volunteering Network Officer. This new role marks an exciting step forward in strengthening community involvement in archaeology across Wales, and we are thrilled to have Siân working on this important initiative.
Siân brings extensive experience in community engagement, project management and volunteer liaison. Her passion for empowering people to explore, protect, and celebrate their local history makes her a fantastic addition to the team. She will be working closely with community archaeology groups, local societies, and volunteers to help build a strong, supportive, and well‑connected network across the country.
The new Volunteering Network Project aims to create opportunities for groups, large or small, to share skills, learn from one another, and access practical support. Whether your group is planning a new excavation, running a local history project, organising events, or simply looking to grow your volunteer base, Siân is here to help.
Community archaeology groups are warmly invited to get in touch to discuss how the project can support your work. Siân can offer advice on volunteer recruitment and training, help you link up with other groups facing similar challenges, and share information about network events, resources, and opportunities. Over the coming months, she will also be coordinating activities and training designed to strengthen connections and celebrate the inspiring work already happening across our communities.
